Cause like a lot of other characters have bootstrap paradox ordeals to them that muddies discussion. But Eridan is part of no such loop; every choice he makes must be his fault. So its like “no dude, you are just a dick who lost hope and died”. Just a refreshing simplicity, you know?

💌 this might be kind of a dumb question but since ur posting about it what IS the significance of alternia being ‘technically a matriarchy’? this low key ties into porrim bc i understand why, in context, people see her as a kind of “mra” allegory but at the same time a lot of her actual takes seem much more like poking fun at fans who think alternia being namely a matriarchy means misogyny is not a theme when it comes to trolls (even tho it obviously is). is there even any significance to it other than being a byproduct of the emergent worldbuilding of alternia being governed by a single empress (instead of an emperor)?

💌 i figured this would be a good question for you bcs i cant remember a lot about ectobiology but would it be accurate to say the the main trolls are exact genetic replicas of their dancestors? or is it more of a paradoxical genetic slurry and theyre all slighly different DNA-wise as the GCAT nucleotide bases form in different strands. like would karkats genetic code be ever so slightly different from kankris? there are a lot of themes about identify/becoming your own person/how the same person can grow up to be wildly different people in different timelines depending on their experiences and actions so like. the idea of, say, rose and dirk being genetic clones having Wildly different lives could be really interesting to analyse esp vis a vis themes surrounding free will and destiny. anyway

💌 its especially silly cause even ignoring the themes, meanings, and other important stuff, or how it makes no sense to do a quest AFTER defeating the final boss, it still makes no sense to obsess over the quest. cause like, almost everyone else’s quest was offscreen’d, touched on in passing or never touched on, with one person being the exception. so you think basic pattern recognition would tell people not to care so much about rose’s quest.

💌 I think you’re spot on about the theme of chapter 3, and aside from pointing out that you can technically beat the Knight without the shadow mantle, the fact that you’re expected to do what is basically a abbreviated no-mercy run to get the chapter 3 shadow crystal would seem to indicate that whatever the payoff for getting them all ends up being isn’t going to be a ‘true ending’, but something else entirely.
